ABOUT

Hi! Glad to meet you! My name is Julieta, and I could now give you a whole introduction about myself, but I'll round it up to a simpler statement. Here's everything you should know about me: I'm a reader. Just like you (or so I hope).

Yet I think perhaps it's best for me to start from the very beginning, from The Hunger GamesThat fantastic novel by Suzanne Collins was the beginning of a trilogy that dragged me into the world of fiction. At the age of 8, I had already read the entire Narnia series by C.S. Lewis, Cornelia Funke's Inkheart trilogy and every Harry Potter book. Books have been with me since the very beginning, but perhaps we could say that Harry Potter was my click, in a way. Ever since I read it, I found myself constantly looking for new books. And I ended up with nothing, as I knew little of this bookish universe. At the age of 11, my dad got me The Hunger Games, and you can probably imagine the rest of the story.

More and more books arrived, my obsession with stories kept growing and ended up becoming my new life. And just like every teenager in the 21st century, I made use of the social media to fill my mind with bookish knowledge, especially YA knowledge. I found fanpages in Facebook, booktubers, writers in Twitter, blogs with daily bookish news, bookstagrammersfanpages in Tumblr, etc. The media soon became my bookish data base.

But what was the point of all thise if I wasn't able to share it? What was the point of all these gorgeous books and fandoms and stuff if I was alone in it? That's how My Bookish Universe was born, first as a Facebook page that eventually got 41,000 followers. And so I went for a blog as well, just like those I had admired for years and never thought I was capable of running.

WHY THIS PLATFORM? I know many people do wonder. I know, booktubers get broader audiences and stuff, so why a BLOG? Honestly, I don't have an answer to this. Maybe it's because I'm way better with writing than speaking, or because I love web design and suck at editing videos. Maybe it's because I actually didn't know about other platforms when I started doing this. Maybe I'm afraid of cameras. At the end of the day, all of those answers are correct. Maybe I'll turn into a booktuber some day. Who knows? But my bookish universe is here for the moment, and I truly do hope you enjoy it.

So here you have me! A lover of uncountable fandoms and a bookworm at heart. If you wanna narrow it down to a single word, then I'm a mere READER.

Now here's my bookish rating. The fact that I give a book 5 stars doesn't mean everyone will agree, and the same goes for 1-star-rated books. Nobody's here to attack somebody else, ¿okay? These are just bookish opinions, and they'll vary from reader to reader. AND THAT'S OKAY.

⭐ 5 STARS
IT'S THE BEST BOOK IN HISTORY, I LOVED IT AND IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. I'll read this book over and over again until the end of my existence. (With this, I generally refer to books that are utterly gorgeous to me, had a great effect on me and I will cherish them forever. Because books do have the power to change us, and they're meaningful.)

4 STARS
Reaaaaalllyyyy good. Nearly perfect. I truly loved it and I think it was a stunning read, but something was missing, or something failed me. It's still a freaking awesome novel.
